August 2006 - We have been enjoying the Barnstomer for at least the last thirty years. The food is excellent, the service is excellent, the owner/manager (Keven Cerar) is everwhere checking to see that everything is going OK. Most everything on the menu is great but try the Honey-Pecan Chicken or the Filet Farci from the dinner menu for a real treat. The lunch buffet is one of the best you will find anywhere and very reasonably priced. We live thirty miles from Monouth but even with the three dollar a gallon gas we get to the Barnstomer as often as we can make it, usually about once a week. It's the best steakhouse/dinner restaurant between Chicago and St. Louis and better then most of the restaurants in those two cities. In fact it just don't get much better than that.
