May 2008 - La Quinta Inn is located directly off I-465 on the east side of Indianapolis.

The hotel is tucked across the street from the Texas Roadhouse restaurant and near a large Costco store.

As members of LaQuinta's frequent guest program, we try to stay with them when possible. The hotels are pet-friendly, which is a plus for us and rates are usually very reasonable. They also have a Chase credit card which allows you to earn points toward free stays and we had accumulated enough to enjoy one of our two nights free in the Indy locale.

This particular hotel is older, but is in generally good shape. The hotel is not large--just two floors and we were lucky enough to grab a room on the back side of the hotel, very close to the back entrance.

The room offered a microwave and fridge (likely because of our status with the program) which is always a plus. Free high speed internet was available, although it seemed a bit slow most of our stay.

The hotel did not reserve a king room as requested, but did accommodate us with a room that had two queen sized beds. Walls are a bit thin, so be wary if you're staying next to some party animals.

The bathroom was nice overall--clean and complete with shampoo, etc.

This is not a five star hotel, but it is a very nice value. Front desk staff is OK--not top notch but reasonably courteous.

Best of all, the place offers a free hot breakfast with do-it-yourself waffles, cereal, yogurt and juice along with breads and sweet rolls. Our rate was less than $75 just a few days before the Indianapolis 500. We certainly couldn't complain and we're glad to add another night's stay to our points total!
