October 2006 - Coming from out of town to Knights Inn in Terre Haute, IN I was expecting a much different experience that what I recieved. The service for this hotel was terrible. We had four people staying in the room without enough towels, when we asked for additional towels and and a stopper for our tub, so that we could take a bath, we were told that they could not find any. There were cigarette marks on the toilet, bedding, and nightstand. This was to be a non smoking room. It did however not smell of smoke when we entered. We drove several hours to stay here. We came dropped out things and left for our activities. It was not until night that we noticed all of these problems, (baseboard 1/2 on wall, heater, towels, cigarette burns, no tub stopper, drain problems in sink). One of the beds was pushed against the heater in the room. Later we found out that it was that way because the outer frame of the heater was falling off the unit. The second of the two nights we went without heat for fear of it being a hazzard. When we complained the attitude of the night staff was down right rude. We tried to find another hotel to stay in but did not have any luck. I will NEVER stay in a Knights Inn again. I was extremely dissappointed with the entire experience. If the room was that bad then it should not have been rented to anyone. The only good experience that we had was that the mattresses were comfortable and that it appeared not to have any bugs, this was the only plus to our stay at Knights Inn. For $89.00 a night we expected a little more.
