April 2008 - People who haven't been to Moonlight Basin might think this relatively new ski resort is just an extension of Big Sky. Geographically speaking, it is, but Moonlight definitely has its own vibe...and it's a cool one! Having wanted to check it out for a couple of years, I finally got to spend a day there and, even after hearing good things about it, was pleasantly surprised! Each of the bases had a friendly, laid-back atmosphere and the slopes, the lifts and views were all great. I was skiing with kids - on mostly greens - so I didn't get to check out most of the runs but Lone Peak pretty much looked like it offered as much as a person could want. Excellent mountain, excellent atmosphere!
