| "Best part of town!" |
by Cleo (from Calgary) October 2007 - I have family in Bozeman so I've spent a lot of time there and I always love heading for the Main Street downtown - whether it's just to grab a coffee, go shopping or take in one of the annual events. The town itself has a great artsy, outdoorsy community and that feel is represented in the downtown area. There are a handful of cozy coffee shops, a couple of great outdoor gear stores (one specifically for women), fun cafes and pubs and heaps of specialty shops, all housed in historic buildings with 2nd floor apartments, etc. In December, the downtown closes to traffic for its annual Christmas Stroll when Main Street becomes jammed with carolers, musicians, food stalls and sleigh rides. The shops stay open late and serve cider and holiday goodies. Bozeman is quickly growing but it is good to see that despite many businesses and box stores opening on the newly developed outskirts of town, the downtown continues to thrive and attract both tourists and locals. It's just a great place to stroll and shop and, no matter what time of year, there are usually loads of other people doing the same.
