November 2007 - Suede is an unusual name for a restaurant, but, being in the Westin Hotel, we expected it to be of good quality. We were not disappointed. Actually, we went back several times because of our expectations. I chose the pork and ham panini. The panini was grilled just enough for the swiss cheese to melt, but not become runny. A mustard sauce and sliver thin dill pickles made a delicious, filling sandwich. There was a choice of mixed green salad, in-house slightly salty oven baked potato chips, fries, fresh fruit, coleslaw or potato salad. I had the chance to sample most of these, and all were delicious. The menu has the standard steak, salmon, or chicken dishes. I sampled the steak sandwich, and the grilled chicken breast with red pepper topping. Both were very tasty. Suede has it right with the size of servings. There was enough food to satisfy most tastes, but presented artistically. The servers were very friendly, and seemed to have the right sense of when to visit and when to back away. Prices were in line with other restaurants so I felt there was very good value here.
