November 2007 - Consider the terrible things that McDonalds has done to our concept of dining and beef. Concerning seafood, Long John Silvers has done far worse. Even so, I continue to eat fast food from both. Why is that?
In my most recent visit to Long John Silvers, I chose the Super Sampler: 1 piece battered fish, 1 chicken plank, 3 battered shrimp, 1 order of popcorn shrimp, cole slaw and fries. I suspected I had too much to eat. Hey, with the Wild Cherry Pepsi, it was only 1400 calories. In the United States, it is a requirement to have the nutritional information handy. Long John Silvers info even includes helpful hints like “park at the farthest spot in the lot.”
For a staff of more than five catering to only three diners, the dining room and bathroom were disgustingly dirty.
Anyway, I had far too much fat in my meal, passed on the fries and the popcorn shrimp. I left the dining room straight for the toilet and then off to buy some antacid.
