July 2008 - Needing to make a phone call before dining, I asked the hostess about the restaurant’s pay phone. The phone booth was missing a telephone. I was graciously provided the business’ phone for my call, even if it was a long distance call. Thanks guys. By the way, I paid for the call.
My entree was a Belgian banana walnut waffle, a single plate-size waffle covered with plenty of chopped walnuts, not-so-plenty banana slices and unnecessary whipped topping. I enjoyed my pancake syrup experiment, testing three of IHOP’s four varieties: strawberry, butter pecan and old fashioned. I didn’t bother with the blueberry. Butter pecan pancake syrup was new to me and I loved it.
I thought I had room for dessert (until I weighed myself two days later) and selected an item rather similar to my entree: fruit crepe. The dessert was a single crepe filled with fruit (not fresh) and sauce or jam of some sort. I selected strawberry for my fruit crepe. This was my kind of carbohydrate loading.
