April 2007 - Room was fine, etc., but it is those little problems that add up that make a stay either great or poor. Sadly, the latter was the case in this instance. Even before I arrived, I phone the hotel as I was driving to get directions. The clerk clearly articulated how to get to the hotel driving east from Interstate 40. Unfortunately, he gave the wrong exit number, which meant I drove an additional 40 minutes out of the way (after driving for 5 hours). When I re-phoned the hotel, the clerk chastized me for not following his directions, asking why I hadn't also paid attention to the Hwy Name. Explaining to him I could not write everything down due to driving, he later admitted he had given me the wrong exit number. I informed the mgr of the problem when I arrived and received a phone apology from the clerk. At the hotel, little things like the cleaning persons making a lot of noise talking to one another in the hallway in the morning and not having coffee provided, simply added to those little problems. The hotel room was adequate and clean.
