December 2007 - The Comfort Suites in Goldsboro, N.C. is conveniently located near Hwy. 70 By-Pass. In fact, it is conveniently located between a Ruby Tuesday and an Outback Restaurant. It is easy to find and the parking lot is well-lit.
The reception staff was extremely helpful and conscientious. After checking in, I received a call from the staff to ensure that everything was okay. The cleaning staff was quiet and courteous. Although they did a good job cleaning the room, one evening I found the television remote on the floor between the bed and nightstand, but underneath the comforter. On another occasion, the cleaning staff did not leave me a bath mat or lotion to replace that I had used. However, everyone was very nice and the cleaning was certainly equal to any of the other 20+ hotels in which I have stayed in the past year.
The rooms are large and generous. I stayed on the first floor and still enjoyed a quiet sleep. Although the furnishings failed to complement each other, the bed and chairs were quite comfortable. There was plenty of lighting in the room. A not-so-easy-to-operate alarm clock was replaced after my first night with a much easier to operate alarm clock. The selection of cable channels was better than most. The window blinds actually fully covered the windows.
Although the breakfasts were less diverse and substantial in their offerings compared with other Comfort Suites, the afternoon snack offerings were also more generous and substantial. The workout room was better equipped than comparable hotels and inns. In addition, I was allowed to work out at an adjacent Gold's Gym without charge by simply presenting my room key! A visitor's pass was $7.00 daily.
Because I had a split reservation, I was glad to learn that, like other Comfort Suites, I could leave my luggage overnight and re-claim upon my return. The staff was warm, courteous, helpful and sincere. I highly recommend this Comfort Suites in Goldsboro to you, if you happen to be in Wayne County and in need of a nice play in which to lie down and rest for the evening. Keep up the excellent work!
