August 2006 - To start off the owner claimed I gave him the wrong date of our stay but luckily (or unluckily in our case) he had open rooms for us to stay in. Don't be fooled by the inexpensive rooms and nice location of this motel. Our rooms were disgusting (black mildew around our tub, dirty sock and old food found in our room, a bed wasn't made, TV's didn't work, outdoor pool I wouldn't let my dog swim in, Etc.) but knowing all other hotels were full we had to stay. There was a lounge area for our team to sit in, again disgusting, and while we were there someone broke into our room and stole our luggage bags. This is the 2nd time it has happened (exact same room #37) at this hotel. The hotel owner claimed the previous robbery it was a long time ago and he changed the door since then. Looking at how old our door was we are pretty sure he did not change the door.
The owner is strange and not in a good way. He was argumentative, irritable and had poor customer service.
I would not recommend a family to stay here as there were several other strange people lurking around the hotel. So my recommendation is that if there are no other hotel rooms for you to stay in, sleep in your car before you stay at the Ranch House.
