September 2007 - Upon arriving at the Inn on the Mexican War Streets, I was quite shocked to see it was right next door to the YMCA. We had to park right on the street. That aside, it had a great veranda upon entering the gate. Our original room that we had reserved had water damage and the ceiling was flaking off so we were offered a larger room for the same price. There was no soap at the sink, you had to stick your hand in the shower to get some from the soap dispenser mounted on the shower wall. No cable TV. Out of place light fixtures. Breakfast was not what you would expect of a Bed and breakfast. There were bagels, cereal, yogurt and danish. Nothing hot. There wasn't even coffee made. There was no staff around, just notes, "if you need anything call____", "Milk and juice in fridge, help yourself".
