January 2006 - Usually when a place tries to be too many things, it ends up not being much of anything but not so with The Bee's Knees in Morrisville, Vermont. This cafe/coffee shop is your favourite eatery, local neighbourhood pub, popular coffee house with music and mom's kitchen all rolled into one. I went a couple of times while staying in Stowe - both during the day and for a late-night bite and brew and witnessed a place filled with old-time Vermonters, trendy young parents and artsy, writer-types alike. The eclectic, welcoming environment shares an equally eclectic menu of cappuccinos, staff-favourite beers, healthy mac & cheese and tofu burritos but it somehow works. The food is yummy, the atmosphere friendly and the vibe groovy. The Bee's Knees is indeed all that and more!
