| "An English pub.....in Vermont" |
|
|
by Jen (from Phoenix) April 2006 - While on a ski trip to Stowe, we were in the mood for some fish and chips and figured Ye Olde England Inne was the place to head for. Mr. Pickwick's (the restaurant/pub at the inn) was about as close to a typical English pub as you might find in Vermont, complete with walls full of hanging horse brasses, dozens and dozens of beer and whiskey to choose from, including all the typical British names, and a menu of fish and chips and other British classics. Like most restaurants in Stowe, dinner wasn't cheap but aside from thinking it was slightly overpriced, the service was friendly and accommodating (we had kids with us) and we enjoyed our dinner - including the fish and chips we'd come for.
